Position Summary:

Transportation of precast product from manufacturing facility to customer locations within a 200 mile radius. Perform product and vehicle inspection before and after each trip, and unload products from the trailer to the customers specified delivery location. Drivers are required to follow all appropriate safety procedures in transporting cargo and must maintain logs.

  • Drive CDL trucks and trailers to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations.

  • Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that the vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.

  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate department, verify instructions and routes.

  • Maintain logs of working hours, vehicle service or repair, and all applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.

  • Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.

  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and accurately collect payment for product when required on COD.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Inventory and inspect material goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.

  • Must have current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen.

  • Good Physical Condition; the ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds with no assistance.

  • Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors.

  • Ability to write, speak, and communicate in English (Required)

  • Demonstrate the ability to operate equipment in a professional and safe manner.

  • Working knowledge of tractor/trailer.
